Gabrielle and Derek’s Keuka Lake NY Wedding was an absolute dream. When your first time meeting includes a punch to the shoulder for interrupting an ultimate frisbee team try out, it may seem like the chances of happily ever after aren’t exactly in your favor. But Gabrielle and Derek’s relationship is proof that with enough persistence, carpooled rides to practice, and homemade chicken dinners, even rocky starts can turn into love. With both Gabrielle and Derek serving the country, these two have fought the odds in a long distance relationship for four years. But, even after all these years and miles apart, it’s so easy to see that the two are just as in love as they were in the early days of their relationship sharing coffee at Java Junction.Â
After 7 years together, Gabrielle and Derek decided to tie the knot in Hammondsport, NY with the stunning Keuka Lake for their backdrop. The ceremony took place in the beautiful St. Gabriel’s Church that was not only Gabrielle’s namesake, but also the same church in which her parents had gotten married in years before. The intimate ceremony and the sentimental roots of tradition made for the most amazing setting for the two to solidify their love. The reception took place at Lakeside Restaurant & Tavern in Hammondsport on Keuka Lake, the very town where Derek proposed, the couple’s love for breakfast sandwiches and the tight-knit nature of their families were on full display.Â
Every moment of Gabrielle and Derek’s Keuka Lake NY wedding was bathed in adoration and love. I was so honored to capture not only their love, but also the tradition of it that spanned decades in the family. Snapping that kind of continuation and importance, along with the excitement of a couple finally solidifying their commitment to one another after so many years apart made this shoot truly one of a kind. The glisten on Keuka Lake and the love in the air will be something I won’t forget for years to come.
