Is there anything better than a spontaneous elopement shoot in your hometown? Brianna texted me two days before her elopement to John asking if there was any chance that I was available to capture their special day in her (and my!) home town. The two got married at the local town hall with just their closest people for an intimate ceremony. The winter wonderland of Geneseo, NY may have been chilly for an elopement. But I’ve never seen anything warmer than the love between these two. The spontaneity and excitement of the day spoke perfectly to the energy and love that’s so tangible between Brianna and John. I was so ecstatic to be able to capture that. Brianna and John’s Geneseo, New York Elopement shoot brought the wise words of Taylor Swift— “You two are dancing in a snowglobe ‘round and ‘round”— alive.
Brianna was such a trooper as we explored the quaint main drag of Geneseo through the snow flurries. Despite the chill and snow, these two were so much fun to explore with. Of course, we stopped by the town’s center fountain featuring Emmaline the Bear for some shots in front of the town’s icon that so many events and parades are named for. The tiny shops and little cabin down the road made a beautiful backdrop for the two to showcase their love as newlyweds.
Brianna and John’s Geneseo, New York Elopement, and their engagement shoot in the rain, are the perfect testaments that you don’t need sunshine for a stunning shoot. The only thing I need to help make your photos magical is the love and care that’s already present in each and every couple I encounter. Whether it’s just down the road in my home town, or miles away somewhere new, it’s such an amazing experience to photograph two people madly in love. And rain or shine, I’m always so thrilled to be behind the lens.
