You know you’ll be lucky in love when you meet your partner in a casino… At least that’s the case for Vanessa and Alex. These two were SO much fun to shoot with. This couple has such a carefree and sweet dynamic that transferred so well into photography. For their Canandaigua Lake Engagement Shoot, these two really wanted to capture the element of the season that they would have been married, if it hadn’t been for circumstances under Covid. But, you never would have guessed the day was a little bittersweet from the amount of fun we had picnicking and waltzing along the beach.

Canandaigua Lake was such a beautiful backdrop for this engagement shoot! The familiar water and sand made Vanessa and Alex so at ease, and it was the perfect place for us to have a bit of fun! The couple broke out their favorite local pizza and beer for an adorable picnic that captured their lighthearted, down-to-earth energy perfectly. This quirky element to the shoot really capitalized on how comfortable and unique Vanessa and Alex’s connection is. I was so grateful to be able to record it through pictures. The two even finished off the shoot with some silly jumps and poses against the backdrop of the water, and I could picture a better way to communicate the goofy, precious connection that Vanessa and Alex share.

This Canandaigua Lake Engagement Shoot was the perfect reminder that I don’t have to travel far to find a unique photo shoot. It’s all about the connection that the couple brings to the scenery. That’s the biggest reason I love what I do. I love love and snapping the energy between two people in love in a frame is the best way to spend my day that I can imagine. I was so grateful to record the energy between Vanessa and Alex and look forward to capturing even more kinds of love in the future.
