This Buffalo City Hall Wedding was such an unforgettable day. After the wedding I just felt an overwhelming amount of gratitude for what I do and being able to work with such amazing couples and their families. Sarah + Rob were an absolute blast and to be a part of their wedding day meant so much to me.
I first met Sarah + Rob a couple of years back when I shot their engagement photos at Letchworth State Park in the Finger Lakes Region. We instantly clicked – I felt like I had known them for years. Sarah was just so kind, so sweet, and so thoughtful, it was as if we had been old friends. During the shoot we quickly bonded over our love for the musical Moulin Rouge and we all could agree that our favorite song from the musical was “Come What May.” Ya know, “Come what may. I will love you. Until my dying day.” Gosh, I just love that song! They even had this as their first dance song at their wedding. Sarah + Rob’s story still makes me melt. They are both so in tune with one another and they complement each other so well! They share a common love for music and can usually be found on the dance floor – after all that is how they met for the very first time. I knew from the start that we would be such a perfect team.
Sarah + Rob’s Buffalo City Hall Wedding was one for the books. It was such an unforgettable day for everyone, including myself! The wedding was held at the Buffalo, New York City Hall in downtown Buffalo. If you’ve ever been to Buffalo, you’d know it is such an incredible city! There is so much to do and to see. The day started with all of us meeting, getting some pre-wedding photos of both Sarah and her bridesmaids and Rob and his “men.” We then headed to the Buffalo City Hall where Sarah + Rob met the judge who married them! They said their vows and had their first kiss as newlyweds, all while sharing the memory with their family and some of their close friends. After the Buffalo City Hall wedding, we hopped in a limo and spent some time at the Delaware Park rose garden where Sarah and Rob were able to have their first dance together. Sarah even got to share a dance with her stepfather. Once the wedding must-do’s were complete all of us celebrated with a quick dance party as well- so.much.dancing! I was finally able to steal the newlyweds to get some intimate bride + groom photos by Hoyt Lake in Buffalo. The reception soon followed and took place at the Delavan Hotel in Lancaster, New York where everyone got to enjoy some after-wedding festivities.
After this wedding I was left absolutely speechless. It was such a memorable day as a whole and it just felt so surreal. It was such an intimate wedding with a small number of people, but it just felt so big. Everyone was together, so many important moments were had, and there was so much to celebrate. It was such a special and unforgettable day celebrating these two. This wedding will always be one of my favorites. It left such an impact on me and reminded me of why I love what I do. There is so much love that is celebrated at weddings, so many memories to be shared, and overall just happiness for everyone. I immediately just felt so welcomed when meeting everyone. It felt as if they were my very own family, and I think this must be my favorite part of what I do, just creating these lifelong connections.
