Alyssa and Mike’s Taughannock Falls engagement session in Ithaca, New York within the Finger Lakes was such a dream! These cuties met through mutual friends, and got engaged this past Christmas! They took a romantic walk on the beach, which was the perfect set up for Mike to pop the question! These two are very adventurous and they are planning their wedding at a dreamy venue on the beach in North Carolina. Who doesn’t love a destination wedding?!
Alyssa and Mike are actually from New Jersey, and they road tripped all the way up to Ithaca to have a fun and adventurous engagement session in an epic location! Alyssa really wanted a waterfall to be the backdrop of their shoot. She searched all over and happened to stumble across one of my blog posts featuring a Taughannock Falls elopement, and she said she fell in love!
I am so freaking honored that these two drove all the way out just to shoot with me in the beautiful Taughannock Falls State Park! If you are planning on visiting, I highly recommend taking the gorge trail. It is about a 20-30 minute easy walk to one of New York’s most breathtaking waterfalls.
We were so nervous all day leading up to the session because it was pouring rain all day long! The weather forecast called for the rain to stop at 4 pm so we decided to go for it, and boy am I glad that we did! Because it was such a gloomy day, we had the entire park to ourselves! It was so perfect. We had such a blast chatting and getting to know each other on our walk up to the falls. I stopped them here and there on our walk whenever I saw a spot that really stood out to me. Alyssa was an absolute trooper walking in heels in the cold and the mud!
I absolutely loved this shoot, Ithaca is one of my absolute favorite locations to photograph. I feel so honored that I was able to help Alyssa and Mike document their dream Taughannock Falls engagement session.
