Therese and Winston’s Historic German House wedding in Rochester, New York was an absolute dream to be apart of. The couple met at Tap & Mallet, which is a bar just a block down the street from their venue! They ending up staying for six hours just talking and getting to know each other. The couple has now been together for five years, conquering long distance all the while. Winston is a poet, and the couple included a lot of his poetry in their wedding celebration. One thing that Winston said that really stuck with me, was how the two of them have lived in so many different cities, but always find home in each other.
The Historic German House has quickly become one of my absolute favorite venues, and if you are considering getting married here, definitely reach out to me!! Therese and Winston got married on New Years Day, the first of the year 2022. Therese is an opera singer who is traveling all over the world for work, so the holidays seemed like the perfect time for the couple to tie the knot.
I met up with these cuties a few days before their wedding day at Green Lakes State Park to shoot their engagement session. We had so much fun getting creative and documenting the little moments between the two of them. They are both so artistic so it was so fun for me to bounce ideas off of their creative minds. The couple considers themselves more introverted, so it was really nice meeting up so close to the wedding to get to know each other and ease their nerves.
We captured their getting ready and formal photos at the beautiful Historic German House. In January, the sunsets at about 4 pm. So, we did a lot of their photos in flash which was such a fun and artistic vibe to work with! It was important to the couple to walk down to Tap & Mullet to get some bride and groom photos. It did happen to be raining, but luckily I always keep some cute umbrellas in my car! We had some fun in the rain before heading back to the couples gorgeous wedding celebration. This Historic German House wedding was truly so magical to be apart of.
