Hemlock Lake Engagement Shoot

Such a hidden gem in Upstate New York, Hemlock Lake is one of my absolute most favorite locations for a couples photoshoot. The spot is one of my favorites because it offers tons of different scenery; and no matter the season, the colors are always so beautiful, especially during the summertime! It made this Hemlock Lake Engagement Shoot one for the books! 

Upstate New York is well-known for its forests, magnificent lakes, and breath-taking waterfalls. It’s a bucket list location, for sure! If you have ever visited the Finger Lakes you’ll find Hemlock Lake nestled away and secluded in the forest closest to Honeoye Lake. Hemlock Lake offers such gorgeous views, and is surrounded heavily by the greenest forests, located in the Hemlock-Canadice State Forest.

Morgan + Mike reached out to me for photos of their recent engagement- I was ecstatic! Both Morgan + Mike are such beautiful souls and were so fun to work with. They were so excited when I mentioned I had picked out a perfect photoshoot location in Hemlock, NY. Morgan + Mike met at the Erie County Fair a few years ago and quickly knew that they were going to hold an important place in each other’s lives. They truly felt at home with each other. They could laugh, be goofy together, they agreed on important things, and they were always there for one another. These are all such important components to having a solid relationship, and it really showed with them. It made photographing them so easy! After meeting them we all quickly grew comfortable with each other and spent the afternoon together as if we were old friends- chatting, sharing memories, and just enjoying the time together! We got extremely lucky with some absolutely breath-taking golden hour shots and towards the end of the shoot got a chance to squeeze some bluelight photos in as the clouds were passing through. The Hemlock Lake Engagement Shoot was one of my most memorable shoots as it turned out just SO perfect. 

Being an Upstate New York native, I have had the opportunity to shoot at some of the most breathtaking locations. Some locations are pretty well-known but I’ve also had the chance to find some (seriously stunning) hidden gems and I love that! I enjoy being able to give my couples a unique and one-of-a kind experience when they book me for a shoot or wedding.
